Part of PadGadget’s continuing series Get Cooking with iPad
So far our cooking series has included apps full of recipes for you to prepare using your iPad in the kitchen, but today we’ve decided to switch gears and take a look at some of our favorite cooking game apps for kids. We hope you enjoy them as much as we do!
Yummy Burger Mania – Do your kids love hamburgers? They can experience all the fun of building a great burger in this fun game. The goal is simple, manage and build your own burger business by making and serving yummy hamburgers for your customers by tapping the correct ingredients in the right order.
Easy gameplay, plenty of concentration and a little skill will translate into hours of fun and entertainment. This kid friendly app is available now for $2.99.
Cookie Doodle – These next two apps top the list of favorites at our house. Cookie Doodle lets kids get creative in the kitchen without any of the mess. They get to choose from a variety of cookie choices and then go through the steps to prepare them. Mix the ingredients, bake, ice and then decorate your cookies with piping, sprinkles and different candies.
Cake Doodle – Cake Doodle lets bakers select from eight different cake recipes, mix ingredients and then bake. There are 12 cake styles available and a variety of frosting colors, icing tips, cake decorations and candles.
Candy Doodle and Jelly Doodle are two more apps in the Doodle series. All four Doodle apps are universal so they will provide kids with countless cooking and decorating combinations on the iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch. Each holds at least a four star rating in the App Store and they’re available for $0.99 a piece.
Diner Dash: Grilling Green – Have you ever wanted to run your own restaurant? The next two apps will give you a little taste of the restaurant business without the actual commitment. In Diner Dash, kids will help Flo, the owner of the diner, prepare food and wait on patrons to earn points and tips as they move through the levels. This busy lady has lots to do to keep her diner running smoothly and kids get to help her seat guests, serve food, bus tables, collect tips and manage customers.
Cooking Dash: Thrills and Spills – Flash back in time and find out where Flo got her start in the restaurant business. Help the teenage version of Flo take orders, cook up theme park favorites and serve hungry park visitors as you prep, grill and “sizzle your way to success.”
Older kids will and even adults will enjoy these time management games. Both are available in the App Store for $4.99.
