This weekend Apple unveiled the Apple Store 2.0 experience with its formal launch in Australia. The new experience features iPads displaying product information and prices around the store. You can also use the iPad to compare features between different products and even ask for a specialist’s help.
That’s not the only piece of news at the Apple Store. Remember the Fling iPad controller joystick? The Fling controller has definitely gained a lot of popularity amongst iPad gamers, and now the iPad accessory can also be purchased at Apple Retail Stores nationwide.
Virtual controls on the iPad, for the most part, are quite good depending on the game and how developers have been able to design the controls within a game. However, there are a lot of hard core gamers that miss the real-controller experience and would certainly want an accessory that gives a bit more control while playing.
The Fling controller is a very useful accessory for the iPad. The design is quite simple, but the two suction cups on one side connected to the plastic ring work quite nicely on the iPad. If you look inside the plastic ring, you will find a spiral that suspends an electrically conductive joystick in the center.
In case you’re wondering, many developers have optimized their games for the Fling. The majority of games that use a virtual joystick on-screen will work. I would say that you won’t have much trouble finding Fling compatible apps.
The Fling controller is made out of clear plastic and is available in three different colors – black, blue, and purple. If you don’t like to use virtual controls on the iPad when playing games, the Fling controller is a very good alternative that will certainly improve your gaming experience.
