SmartBlazer2 Leather Folio for iPad 2 – Accessory Review

Leather cases have become quite the popular accessory for the iPad 2. With a slimmer body and slippery built, the iPad 2 requires a case that will provide great protection and gives you some flexibility when using your tablet.

If you’re looking for a great leather case for your iPad 2, one that will provide good protection, a stylish look and attract envious glares from your friends, then you should check out the SmartBlazer2 Leather Folio from TheJoyFactory.

TheJoyFactory has done a very good job with this leather case. They’ve included an auto sleep/wake function for the iPad 2 that certainly replaces Apple’s Smart Cover. I like Apple’s Smart Cover, but the main problem is that it requires you to buy other accessories to protect the back of your iPad. You may need to purchase a skin protection for it, or other covers like TheJoyFactory’s SmartFit2.

This leather case already provides the Smart Cover functionality with a magnetic cover that easily folds back and converts into a non-slip desktop stand. In addition, the SmartBlazer2 encases the whole iPad to protect the tablet, front and back. The case sets up quite nicely for typing, playing games, answering emails, browsing the Internet, watching movies or enjoying a FaceTime video session.

The magnets included on the front cover work very well and automatically wake up and put your iPad to sleep.

The case is made of high quality leather and provides a dual functionality as an iPad stand to hold your iPad in landscape viewing mode, and also provide you a suitable lower angle for typing. I really liked the folio’s paneled black leather and red switch design. It certainly brings a stylish look to the iPad.

The case features a light weight design and provides a comfortable grip that is very suitable to carry in any business environment or wherever you take your iPad. The case comes with custom cutouts that allow you to access all iPad 2 buttons and functions quite easily.

What I liked: Pretty much everything about this case. The leather material is high quality. The magnetic cover folds back easily to make a stand and the auto sleep/wake function is quite convenient. Your iPad 2 is very well protected.

What I didn’t like: Nothing major, but the case comes with a small latch that can be wrapped around the iPad once it is inserted into the case. I would feel a bit more comfortable if the latch would feel a little stronger. This is not a major design flaw that you need to worry about. Your iPad 2 will be well protected and will not slip out that easily.

To buy or not to buy: This is a very high quality case for the iPad 2. It will certainly provide protection and a lot of flexibility. If you’re looking for a leather case that provides a comfortable grip, great looks for your iPad 2 and remains extremely suitable to carry around in any business environment or wherever you go, the SmartBlazer2 is a great option.

this is stylish to say the least, however im not sure about the stand facility

The stand is stable enough for you to watch movies, browse the Internet, use cooking applications… For typing, you do not want to use the stand. However, the front cover folds like Apple’s Smart Cover for a lower typing position. In that lower position you can type and write on the iPad quite well.

Check out Piel Frama’s Leather Cases. All Leather, all Class and Protection, although expensive ($110). But worth every penny

the case looks great, however i agree with cheesy. How well does it stand? Seems like the base may not be strong enough to stand very well.

I received this SmartBlazer 2 case last week. It was indeed a nice case, however, mine was unfortunately defective. The “smart cover” feature didn’t work. I called The Joy Factory and informed them about the problem. Unfortunately, the SmartBlazer 2 is backordered. They sent me the SmartSuit 2 as a replacement. It is also a nice case, however, it isn’t al leather and the my iPad 2 suffers from too much exposure than I would prefer.

I’m extremely disappointed that SmartBlazer 2 was defective and backordered. However, a huge kudos to The Joy Factory for taking a quick action of solving my dilemma.
