Kids Learn Letters, Phonics & Spelling with Word Wagon HD & iPad
Award winning children’s app developer Duck Duck Moose launched its latest iPad app last week and it didn’t take long for Word Wagon HD to find itself in the New and Noteworthy section of the App Store. The iPhone version of Word Wagon recently won the Children’s Technology Review Editor’s Choice Award and the iPad version is poised to follow in its proverbial footsteps.
Word Wagon introduces children in preschool through first grade to letters, phonics, and spelling. Together with Mozzarella the mouse and Coco the bird, kids learn to recognize letters, pronounce their sounds and spell words.
Seven word categories with more than 100 words offer colorful illustrations, engaging animations and entertaining sounds for kids to explore. Word Wagon also includes four levels of learning for children ages one to seven:
- Level 1: Letters – Learn the names of letters
- Level 2: Phonics – Learn the sounds of letters
- Level 3: Spelling I – Spell words up to 4 letters
- Level 4: Spelling II – Spell words up to 7 letters
The app begins with Mozzarella strolling across the screen and objects appearing in his way. Kids can choose to watch the mouse jump over the objects or tap them to spell the corresponding word. When an object is selected, letter tiles appear for students to drag into place. As words are spelled correctly, children earn stars to create different animal shaped constellations and then watch Astronaut Mozzarella float around in space. Kids also collect interactive stickers for each word they spell and then get to touch them in the sticker book to hear silly sounds.
Duck Duck Moose’s combination of fun loving characters and educational content is sure to provide your kids with hours of high quality learning fun. Word Wagon HD is available for download from the App Store now for $1.99.
