Embrace Your Inner Ninja with NinJump HD – iPad Game Review
Who doesn’t love Ninjas? Try your skills as a Ninja master with NinJump HD!
Gameplay is quite straightforward, try to climb as high as you can while avoiding obstacles on the walls and tapping the screen to jump and attack. If you have a shield, that will block a hit and help you out on your quest. If you are able to knock out three of a kind you will get a bonus jump.
Your progress is measured in height, which translates into how high you were able to climb before falling to your death. NinJump HD is integrated with OpenFeint as well as Facebook and Twitter so you can post those high (pun intended) scores in order to brag to your friends about your awesome ninja skills!
NinJump is one of those games that seems like it should be so simple to master, but the pace is very quick so it takes a lot of finesse to do well. It will take you some time to figure out exactly what moves will kill your enemies and at what angle you need to jump at things. While this may be frustrating at first I think it would get really boring far too fast otherwise.
What I liked: This is a cute and very entertaining game. The graphics are well done and the sound effects will make you laugh. Your ninja makes exactly the sound you would expect when he falls.
What I didn’t like: I would like to see more customization and options in this game. Even something as simple as being able to choose the color of your sash would make me feel more in control and therefore more engaged.
To buy or not to buy: There is enough entertainment here to definitely warrant a download to give the game a try.
