Super Ball Escape HD – iPad App Review

Playlithium’s Super Ball Escape HD is a clever ball rolling game that tests your balance and agility skills in a way that will delight and infuriate you!

The star of the game is a robot ball that you must navigate through puzzles, killing enemies and avoiding obstacles and hazards, but never falling over the edge into the void below (which I did very frequently).  This is made more complicated by a series of narrow hallways that you must roll your way around and thru by tilting, twisting and turning your iPad or iPhone.

A few tricks up your sleeve make playing this game easier including the ability to freeze, morph, camouflage and more! Choose the upgrades that most closely match your style of playing.

There are three difficulty levels, easy, medium and hard.  If you and your ability to balance are at all like me and mine, you will never master this game on easy! I had enough difficulty getting past the training levels, but once you have exhausted your game-play with the included levels, you can purchase more levels in-game for $1.99.

What I liked: I enjoy games where you really feel like you are competing against your own personal best. The more patient you are, the better you will do –which is a real catch 22, because the more times you try to navigate these puzzles the less patient you will become!

What I didn’t like: The graphics in-game are a little lackluster and it feels a bit like the controls are not always sensitive or responsive enough to make the intricate twists and hairpin turns required.

To buy or not to buy: If you like games that challenge your coordination and agility skills I would definitely give it a try. The included levels are difficult enough that you won’t feel that you need to immediately purchase more in order to enjoy the game.
