iPad 2 Coming to a Toys R’ Us Near You?
Last week I reported on the possibility of RadioShack selling the iPad 2, which proved true the very next day, and today Toys R’ Us is reportedly training its employees to sell the popular device. According to a tip received by modmyi.com this morning, the popular children’s toy store will begin selling iPad 2s next month.
Information from a Toys R’ Us employee was supported by a photograph of iPad 2 details provided to employees during a recent training session. The picture clearly shows “iPad 2″ at the top of the paper followed by iPad 2 specific data.
Given the worldwide shortage of iPad 2s, I was a bit skeptical that Apple would add another distributor to the mix when the RadioShack rumor surfaced last week. However, the rumor proved true and if you’re lucky, you might even be able to purchase an iPad 2 at your local retailer. Based on the addition of RadioShack and the evidence provided by this most recent tipster, it seems likely that additional retailers will be added to the list.
If the tip proves to be true, Toys R’ Us will become the seventh non-Apple retailer in the US to stock the popular iPad 2. Best Buy, Walmart, Target, AT&T, Verizon and RadioShack are already carrying the iPad 2.
So, will Toys R’ Us have iPad 2s on its shelves next month? Who knows? But at this point, it wouldn’t surprise me.
