iPad 2 Available for Purchase Online in Five Hours
While the iPad 2 will be available at 5PM tomorrow (local time) at all Apple retail stores, as well as most Best Buy, Target, Walmart, at&t and Verizon stores, some folks may prefer to purchase their device online.
Apple will start taking online orders for the iPad 2 as early as 1 AM Pacific Time tomorrow – in about five hours - for folks who live far away from any of the 10,000 points of sale that will carry the iPad 2, or for folks who simply do not want to wait in line for hours.
Apple today announced that iPad 2, the next generation of its magical device for browsing the web, reading and sending email, enjoying photos, watching videos, listening to music, playing games, reading ebooks and much more, will be available tomorrow at 5 p.m. local time at all 236 Apple retail stores in the US and through the Apple Store® (www.apple.com) beginning at 1 a.m. PT.
While the online option might not be for everyone, especially for first time buyers, it’s a great way to avoid long lines, and might also be the only option for folks who happen to live far from any stores carrying the new iPad.
First time buyers might want to go to their local Apple Store instead though, as Apple Store employees will help them get started, and setup their new device.
