Motion Doctor – An iPad App for Physical Therapy

The iPad has made great strides in the medical field and with more and more medical apps hitting the App Store, popularity will certainly continue to grow.  Blue Whale Web Solutions, in conjunction with Conshohocken Physical Therapy, offers one such app.  Motion Doctor is a physical therapy reference tool designed to assist consumers, patients and physical therapy practitioners.

The app includes 60 professionally shot videos showcasing various exercises and stretches.  Physical therapists will be able to guide patients on proper technique and ultimately help them prevent pain and continue an active lifestyle.  Patients will have access to FAQs with information about the overall benefits of physical therapy, in addition to unique filtering capabilities.  Users may filter the recommended exercises by four main categories: body parts, activity, sport, and profession.  And once you’ve found the exercises that help you most, create your own routine or put together a list of your favorites.

All of Motion Doctor’s videos are embedded in the app so it can be used without WiFi or 3G connectivity.  Regardless of your location, you’ll be able to access and watch the videos with no problem.  Each video includes a written text description for the exercise.

“The Motion Doctor app stands out from traditional medical field apps which can be text-heavy and lacking in design,” said Gregg Weiss, CEO and Founder of Blue Whale Web Solutions. “This app appeals to people seeking quality physical therapy information through its professionally shot videos and a crisp user-friendly interface. It is a great example of the power of smart design, which presents very useful information in a pleasing and simple to use package.”

Keep in mind Motion Doctor is not intended to replace in-person physical therapy, so contact your medical professional before use. The nationwide search tool will help patients find an experienced physical therapist in their area, provided by PTPN.

Motion Doctor will provide patients with personal tailored instruction on relieving and preventing pain.  Created specifically for the iPad, this app is available in the App Store now for a $14.99.
