TurboTax 2010 Released for the iPad

Most of us have collected our W-2′s, 1099′s and various other documents to use for tax preparation, but how many have actually started the process?  If you’ve been putting off your dreaded tax work until a more convenient time, today might be the day to begin.  Intuit announced their best selling tax preparation software is now available as an app for the iPad.

TurboTax 2010 is a new app designed and optimized for use on the iPad.  It combines Intuit’s well-known, easy-to-use tax software with the iPad’s portability, allowing users to prepare and e-file both their federal and state taxes.

A series of questions guides users through their tax return step-by-step and helps them identify every applicable tax deduction and tax credit, guaranteeing tax payers the biggest possible refund.  Once complete, customers may e-file their return directly from their iPad and get a refund deposited into their bank account in as little as eight days.  After e-filing, users may monitor the status of their federal tax return using the TurboTax MyTaxRefund iPad app.

“A growing number of people rely on mobile devices to live their lives, and TurboTax is committed to providing easy-to-use tax apps for them,” said Todd Stanley, vice president of product management & development for TurboTax. “Having TurboTax available for the iPad perfectly blends the ease of use TurboTax known for with the convenience of a tablet, creating another option for people to easily and accurately file their return.”

TurboTax 2010 is a free download from the App store and taxpayers simply pay for the software they use when they file.  Prices start at $29.99 for federal returns and $36.99 for state and include e-file at no additional cost.

So, don’t put off the inevitable and download TurboTax 2010 today.  April 15th will be here before you know it!
