DirecTV Announces Customizable iPad Remote Application

DirecTV has just announced their upcoming iPad app, which will integrate their satellite TV service and will let you control your favorite shows, movies and sports conveniently from your tablet.
The company has launched a preview page for the upcoming remote app. From the looks of it, DirecTV has been paying close attention to the competition.
We’ve seen how TV service and content providers have jumped into the iPad bandwagon. Comcast, Verizon FiOS, Tivo and Dish Network have all joined the iPad App Store and have released some interesting applications.
DirecTV’s iPad app will allow you to organize your favorite channels, discover shows, movies, and sport events. You will be able to create lists of your favorite channels and teams, and with a tap, tune in on your TV, get detailed information about a show, and even record to your DVR.

The application comes with the familiar DirecTV control buttons. You will be able to play, pause, rewind, fast-forward, scroll through channels and record with simple taps on your iPad. In addition, you will be able to access your DVR playlist, and select what DVR you’re recording to.
According to DirecTV, the upcoming application will work with the majority of their DVR receivers. For more details on receiver compatibility and other requirements you can click here and read the fine print at the bottom of the page.
