Orange and T-Mobile UK Offer Discounted First Generation iPad, iPad 2 Around the Corner

The UK branches of T-Mobile and Orange just reduced the price of the iPad 3G, from £199 to £99, in order to get rid of their respective first generation iPad stocks, as the iPad 2 is around the corner.

The offer is restricted to customers willing to sign up for a 24-month contract. Note that the offer is restricted to existing customers if you decide to go with T-Mobile, while Orange allows any new customers to take advantage of the offer.

The data plans offered by both mobile providers cost £25 per month, for up to 2GB of data (including 1GB of off-peak data consumption).

Carriers typically start to discount their devices only weeks ahead of a product refresh, which seems to imply that the iPad 2 could be introduced very soon.
