Three Little Pigs for iPad – Quick App Review

Do your kids act like the Big Bad Wolf and try to huff and puff and blow the house down?  If so, give them the perfect iPad app and let them go to town.  A new version of The Three Little Pigs app just hit the App Store and kids will love it.

Everyone knows the story of the three little pigs and app developer Nosy Crow brings it to life on the iPad.  This childhood favorite provides kids with three options to read and enjoy.  Read and Play lets youngsters listen to the story, interact with characters and turn pages when they’re ready to advance.  The Read to Me option moves through the story automatically without any interaction and Read by Myself allows users to read and play at their own pace.

Tap characters to make them talk and flick to watch them jump and spin.  Check out the details on a page by pinching to zoom in or out or tilting the iPad to view more.  Readers can help the three pigs build their houses with a few taps of a finger and then participate in the wolf’s demolition of them by blowing into the microphone.

Regardless of reading ability, kids of all ages will enjoy this digital version of The Three Little Pigs.  The 3D graphics are impressive and the animated characters with charming British accents are great.  My daughter and I enjoyed our quality time together reading and exploring the pages of this story.  We laughed at the cute little pigs making them run and jump through the forest and had fun controlling the sly wolf chasing after the pigs.

If you and your kids love an entertaining app with lots of interactive features, this version of The Three Little Pigs is a wonderful choice.  A full version of the app is available for download now for $7.99 or you can get the Lite version with limited features for free.
