Stack the Countries for iPad – Quick App Review
Stack the States for the iPad has climbed the charts and received good reviews in the App Store ever since its release the end of last year. It’s a great way for elementary kids to learn about US geography and now they can expand to cover the world with the newly released Stack the Countries from Moms with Apps member Dan Russell-Pinson.
Similar to the States version, the object of this universal app is to stack enough countries from around the world to reach a checkered line on the screen and learn a little geography in the process.
Begin by selecting a continent or taking on the whole world. Users then select the correct countries in response to questions asked about capitals, landmarks, shapes, geographic locations and more. If answered correctly, you’re able to move the state into position, drop and stack each one on top of the next until they reach the checkered line. Answer incorrectly and you’ll see the correct answer to the question but will not be able to stack that country.
Every time kids stack enough countries to reach the checkered line, they complete a level and get to add a country to their own personalized map. They’ll also receive statistics for the number of questions, as well as the percentage, answered correctly. Kids can view their counries at any time and the more they collect, the more bonus games they’re able to unlock and play. Bonus games include:
- Stack the Countries – Pile countries one on top of the other and try to reach the checkered line.
- Map It – Tap the country’s location on the map and try to complete the entire continent too.
- Pile Up – Quickly identify each country with a tap and try to get rid of them before they reach the top of the screen.
Users have the option to create up to six player profiles, answer 1,000+ unique questions and track progress on personalized maps. Additional features include:
- 192 country trivia flash cards
- Choose any of the friendly-looking countries as your avatar
- High resolution pictures of famous world landmarks
- All games are powered by a realistic physics engine
- Fun sound effects and music
- iPhone 4 Retina Display support
So, if you’re kids have improved their knowledge of US geography with Stack the States or maybe you want them to learn more about countries from around the world, Stack the Countries is a great educational app to add to your collection. Stack the Countries is available on the App Store now for $1.99.
