iOS 4.3 Beta 1 Brings New Multi-Touch Gestures to iPad [VIDEO]

As you should know by now, Apple seeded the first beta of iOS 4.3 to its network of iOS developers earlier today.

Several new features will be brought by the update, including new multi-touch gestures to help users better navigate around the operating system.

The new gestures require the use of no less than four or five fingers, and include:

  • Pinching out to the home screen: the new gesture will allow users to go back to the home screen without having to hit the home button.
  • Swiping up: the new gesture will reveal the multi-tasking bar (instead of having to press the home button twice)
  • Swiping left and right: the new – and by far most promising – gesture will allow users to switch between the apps currently running

iOS 4.3 has other surprises in store for iPad owners, stay tuned for more details. Note that the new operating system is expected to be released in early March 2011.

Nice, but I be much happier if they improved the appalling wifi connectivity on the ipad first. Really, this aspect of ipad sucks. My HTC desire phone is far better when it comes to wifi!
