Check out the apps below and have a little fun with your kids now.
I Love You Through and Through – Preschoolers (age two and up) learn all about emotions using this app based on the book by Bernadette Rosetti-Shustak and Caroline Jayne Church. Touch the words to hear the story and characters to watch them move. Bring the scenes to life as you tilt your iPad back and forth. Kids will see words highlight as they are read and enjoy wonderful narration, original music and engaging sound effects as they read.
Parents have the option to turn music and narration on or off, allowing younger kids to enjoy the book being read to them and older kids to practice reading. You can get this app now for $4.99 in the App Store.
The Magic School Bus: Oceans – You never know what you’ll discover when you board the Magic School Bus with Mrs. Fizzle and her class. This app takes kids to the bottom of the ocean to “take chances, make mistakes…and get messy!” Designed for kids four and up, The Magic School Bus: Oceans includes original music, over 20 character voices and great sound effects. Touch words to hear the story, tilt the iPad to discover underwater bubbles containing pictures and videos, learn hundreds of underwater facts, play a game and much more in this interactive storybook.
Words are highlighted when read and readers have the option to turn off music and narration, access mini-games and go to specific pages in the story. You can get a Lite version of the app for free and a full version is available for $7.99.
Go, Clifford, Go! – Emily Elizabeth never dreamed the runt of the litter would grow into a Big Red Dog loved by all. Kids will have a blast playing with Clifford and the vehicles he discovers as he walks through town. Interact with characters and watch them move by touching pictures and tilting the iPad. Drive vehicles included in the story and collect bones for Clifford in a fun game after the story.
Like all the other apps, parents have the option to turn music and narration on or off depending on their child’s reading level. Go, Clifford, Go! is now for $4.99 in the App Store.
