Can Knockdown: Fun iPad Game – App Review
Whoever came up with the saying “you get what you pay for” never played Can Knockdown on an iPad. The game is an iPad remake of the classic carny game that you’ve probably played as a kid. Take a ball and try to knock down cans stacked on a shelf. While the rules might be simple, actually knocking all the cans off the shelf can be a challange and that’s where the fun lies.
You start the game with three cans stacked on top of each other sitting on a shelf. Take aim with your ball and fling it at the cans to try and knock them off the shelf to rack up points and advance to the next level. You have five balls to use to complete a level so if you don’t get it on the first try, don’t worry. However if you do have perfect aim, you can rack up point multipliers for knocking all cans down with a single shot. Multipliers are a great way to really rack up the points.
The game adds a few elements you’ve probably not seen at your local amusement park. Some levels have special exploding cans which can help you quickly clear a level with a single shot. In addition to the exploding variety, there are also Extra Ball cans which, you guessed it, gives you an extra ball.
One of the most rewarding parts of the game is watching the slow-motion instant replays whenever you make a particularly good shot. The game’s nice graphics and high quality physics engine makes it feel like you’re knocking down real cans at an amusement park.
Can Knockdown is a fun game to play and is surprisingly addictive. The free version can become a bit repetitive and it’s certainly not a game you’d play for hours on end but it’s a great diversion when you have a few extra minutes at the airport or sitting around the house.
What I liked: Great graphics and easy to play. Fun way to waste some time on your iPad
What I didn’t like: Levels can become a bit repetitive.
