iOS Games Available in 24 Hours Before iTunes Connect Shutdown

If you’re looking for iOS games, over the next 24 hours several games will be released for the iPad and iPhone.

Why is this important? Today is Wednesday December 15, which means it’s the eve of the final Thursday in December before the pre-holiday iTunes Connect shutdown. From December 23rd through December 28th, iOS developers won’t be able to release new games or updates, or change any of the prices of their games. This is why developers are rushing to get their games approved and released before December 23rd.

Editor’s Note: Over the next 24 hours the following games (in no particular order) will become available on the US App Store. As usual, games and applications will become available first in the New Zealand App Store, but will become available in the US App Store as the day goes on. If you click on a link and the game is not available yet, please make sure you check back again later during the day. The application will become available eventually.

Dungeon Defenders: First Wave ($2.99) – (iTunes link)

This will be the second game in the App Store that uses Unreal Engine 3 technology. Take on the role of one of four distinctive Hero classes, tasked with fending off hordes of invading creatures by strategically summoning a variety of Towers and Traps throughout your Castle. The Game Center-powered multiplayer allows four players to play together in a cooperative mix of tower defense-like gameplay. You will be able to cooperate and compete throughout the story Campaign and Challenge Missions to build the strongest heroes and achieve the highest scores in the kingdom.

Aralon: Sword and Shadow HD ($6.99) – (iTunes link)

An Epic 3D Role-Playing adventure for the iPhone 4, iPad, iPhone 3GS, and iPod Touch. It focuses on a compelling story, a unique hero, and an open 3D world ready for exploration. Journey through the Kingdom of Aralon and unravel its mysteries. The game features full Retina Display and iPad Support with over 30 hours of gameplay.

World of Goo for iPad ($9.99) – (iTunes link)

World of Goo is a multiple award winning physics based puzzle and construction game. It’s a very addictive game. Drag and drop living, squirming, talking, globs of goo to build structures, bridges, cannonballs, zeppelins, and giant tongues. The millions of Goo Balls that live in the beautiful World of Goo are curious to explore, but they don’t know that they are in a game, or that they are extremely delicious. A very good download for the iPad.

Shadow Guardian ($6.99) – (iTunes link)

Gameloft brings a story game about a hero named Jason Call. The mysterious Prima Materia, a powerful and precious relic that has been at the center of occult legends for millennia, has become a real threat. There is one hope, and it’s you. Gameplay involves lots of running, gunning, jumping, climbing, and treasure hunting.

N.O.V.A. 2 – Near Orbit Vanguard Alliance ($6.99) – (iTunes link)
