Google Voice App Now iPad Compatible

After landing in the App Store about a month ago for iPhone users only, Google Voice has been updated earlier today, and now supports the full line of iOS devices, including the iPad.

Of course, the app does not allow you to make regular phone calls directly from your iPad, as after all, the iPad is not a cellphone, but the update allows you to use all the other features offered by Google Voice, from sending/receiving text messages, to being able to read voice messages left on your Google voicemail.

Moreover, the app is compatible with Google’s Click2Call feature, and can automatically initiate Google Voice calls with the phones registered on your Google Voice accounts. Once the call is initiated, your phone will ring, and Google Voice will automatically connect you to the contact selected from the app.

Note that the app is not a real full blown iPad app, as it is primarily designed for the iPhone, but the developers added iPad-specific code to the app, as so far it was incompatible with the tablet.

Google Voice is available in the App Store, and is a free app.
