We’ve received word that Firemint, a very successful iOS game developer, will be releasing some new features to their racing game hit for the iPad. Real Racing HD has been a great success since it was launched earlier this year. We did an in-depth review and we were very impressed with this game.
In addition, Firemint plans to release a new version for the iPhone called Real Racing 2.
The iPad game, Real Racing HD, will be getting a free online multiplayer update that will be available when iOS 4.2 is released. We hope iOS 4.2 becomes available next week per the latest rumors we’ve covered thus far.
With the multiplayer update you will be able to log in to Game Center to compete in real-time against friends and rivals in 4-person online multiplayer races. As expected, you will be able to invite people to race, or be matched against others automatically.
As for the new iPhone version (Real Racing 2), not too many details have been shared thus far. We certainly hope to see more race tracks, more cars and more customization features. We will have to wait and see. We believe the new iPhone game could be available anytime after Thanksgiving. At least we hope so!
