Allrecipes Launches ‘Your Kitchen Inspiration’ iPad App
Leading Internet food site Allrecipes.com has just released their latest iPad app in time for the busy holiday cooking season. The Allrecipes site, part of the Readers Digest family of publications, is well known for their recipes, photos, reviews and stories about good food and drink. The site has been around for over 14 years and is one of our go-to food sites when we’re looking to whip up something special. Now with their new iPad app, working in the kitchen just got even easier.
The Allrecipes – Your Kitchen Inspiration app follows up on their successful Allrecipes.com Dinner Spinner iOS app which is the top downloaded food app in the App Store. As you’d expect, the app lets home cooks quickly search, find and follow recipes from Allrecipes extensive collection and even includes some additional functionality like the all new Inspire Me feature.
Based on the company’s research, one of the biggest problems home cooks face is the question of what to cook for dinner. Many cooks simply need a bit of inspiration to get their cooking session underway so to help, Allrecipes has added the new Inspire Me feature. With Inspire Me, users can enter recipe preferences such as course, method or ingredients and the app then presents a photo stream of delicious looking dishes. When the user sees a dish they like, they simply tap on the item to get detailed recipe instructions.
The app has an interactive cooking mode where detailed step-by-step instructions highlight what you need to do next when preparing your dish and the app even includes a kitchen timer to keep track of cooking times. Another standard feature is the ability to search for recipes based on dietary restrictions, a great feature for people on strict diets or with food allergies.
If you’re planning on doing any cooking this holiday season, be sure to grab the Allrecipes – Your Kitchen Inspiration iPad app and get inspired to create some delicious dishes for your family and friends. The app is available for free in the App Store. Power users can upgrade the app to the Pro version which includes shopping lists, sharing, online syncing and more. The Pro version is available though an in-app purchase for $4.99.
