Aliph, a well known designer of the stylish, noise-reducing Jawbone headsets, has announced its first product in the Bluetooth audio segment.
The Jambox, which is a compact wireless speaker, has been designed to become your best companion while on-the-go. It’s a small stereo speaker that connects via Bluetooth to your iPad, iPhone and computers. The stylish speaker is available in the same colors and metal patterns of a Jawbone headset, and is firmware upgradeable as time goes on. Check out the video after the break.
Although the Jambox is not pocket-sized, it’s compact enough that you can carry it around inside a briefcase or backpack. The Jambox is 5.9″ by 2.2″ by 1.6″. Aliph has launched the product in four colors – Black Diamond, Blue Wave, Red Dot, and Gray Hex. The speaker case features small stereo speakers and a rechargeable battery that according to the manufacturer will last up to 8 hours.
The Jambox has been designed with Hi-Fi audio in a portable wireless speaker. Aliph has added an output capacity of 85 decibels, with a pair of drivers that combined with a passive bass radiator and airtight enclosure can cover low-end frequencies and loud sounds.
In addition, Aliph has added a built-in microphone that allows you to do hands-free calling from phones and VoIP-capable hardware. You can easily use the speaker with your iPhone for conference calls wherever you are.
You’ll be able to use this stylish wireless speaker in many ways. You can use it to listen to music wherever you go, to watch movies or play games on you iPad or iPhone, and also as way to have a carry-on Polycom speakerphone while on the road.
The Jambox supports Aliph’s MyTalk service, which lets you download software updates, apps and personalize different settings.
The Jambox will set you back $200, but the clever design and lavish presentation may make it quite reasonable for some. The Jambox can be ordered from Aliph’s website, or via technology merchants such as the Apple Store and electronics boutiques.
