XtremeMac Neoprene iPad Sleeve – Accessory Review
With the holidays just around the corner, I’m often asked by readers what item would make a good gift for an iPad owner. As an iPad user who’s always on the go, my answer is simple, get them a good case or sleeve. Something to protect your iPad from life’s normal bumps and bruises is a great investment and the perfect way to keep your iPad looking like new.
There are a lot of options out there for protecting your iPad so picking a good solution is important. XtremeMac has been protecting Apple products starting with the Apple’s first iPod back in 2001. The company is well known for their iPod and iPhone accessories and was one of the first companies to start shipping iPad accessories earlier this year and one of the latest additions to their lineup is the Neoprene Sleeve for iPad.
As the name suggests, the sleeve is made of a neoprene material that fits snuggly around your iPad. The form-fitting design keeps your iPad secure inside and helps prevent the device from easily slipping out and spilling across the floor. I like that the sleeve has a large velcro enclosure across the top so you can close the sleeve and keep your iPad from accidentally sliding out while your carrying it around or removing it from your laptop bag. The sleeve also has a nice large front pocket that can hold a sync cable, headphones, charger or other small accessory. The accessory pocket is also covered by the top flap to make sure everything stays put when the sleeve is closed.
The form-fitting sleeve comes in black and the inside material is a bright orange, a color combination we’re seeing used on more and more bags and cases. The material has a quilted pattern on the front to give it some extra grip and a bit of character. Fit and finish of the sleeve was good and the quality you’ve come to expect from XtremeMac.
The XtremeMac Neoprene Sleeve is not the cheapest sleeve on the market, with a retail price of $39.99, but the front pocket and flap enclosure sets it apart from many cheaper options.
What I liked: The XtremeMac Neoprene Sleeve is a nice form-fitting sleeve that provides good protection from the minor bumps and bruises you encounter during normal daily activities. The flap enclosure and front pocket are convenient additions.
What I didn’t like: Might be a bit pricey for some folks.
