Upcoming ‘Real Racing’ Update Brings 4-Way Online Multiplayer

When Apple launched Game Center a few weeks ago we expected many game apps to quickly let you and your friends (or soon-to-be-friends), in on the action.

To no one’s surprise we’re already seeing developers jumping in and bringing in nice features to existing and new games. Firemint just announced they already plan to leverage Game Center, and will be releasing a 4-way online multiplayer update to their great game Real Racing.

As we mentioned on our in-depth review of Real Racing, the game is one of the most polished racing experiences on the App Store. But, we were only able to play in multiplayer mode via WiFi on the iPhone. With the upcoming update you’ll be able to play against thousands of players (or soon-to-be-friends).

The initial update will be available for the iPhone and iPod Touch. We expect Firemint to support the iPad once the Game Center features get released on iOS 4.2 in November timeframe. By the way, Real Racing for the iPhone is now on sale for $2.99 (limited time only).
