iPad Hits New Milestone – 30,000 iPad Apps Now Available

The growth of iPad apps available in the iTunes App Store is accelerating and has just passed the 30,000 mark earlier today. It took only 48 days for Apple to add 10,000 new apps since it hit the 20,000 apps level back on August 10. Apple needed 60 days to grow from 10,000 to 20,000 iPad apps in the App Store. Apple originally broke the 10,000 iPad apps mark in June, 178 days after the launch of the iPad on April 3. At the current pace, Apple could achieve nearly 50,000 iPad apps by the end of the year.
With over 30,000 iPad apps now available, the iPad is one of Apple’s fastest growing application ecosystems. The iPad app store is currently the third largest mobile apps platform behind iPhone and Android. If you combine all iOS apps, there are nearly three times as many iOS apps as there are Android apps.
