Best Buy to Sell iPads in all US Retail Stores
Best Buy is gearing up for the busy holiday season and plans to start selling Apple’s iPad in all US stores. Best Buy began selling the iPad this past April, but the initial roll out was limited to 673 Best Buy stores and will now be expanded to all 1,093 US Best Buy locations.
According to a report from Bloomberg, Best Buy’s CEO Brian Dunn said the move was prompted by the growing popularity of the iPad and the company’s wish to capitalize on sales ahead of the busy holiday season.
“We see the iPad as the magnificent shining light in what will become a whole new category, and that is tablets,” Dunn said. “In many cases, it’s an incremental device. In some cases, it’s a substitute device for netbooks. We think that’s going to stimulate a lot of customer interest.”
Best Buy plans on having iPads available in all locations beginning September 26.
