iHome Shows Off AirPlay Ready Wireless Speaker
Popular iPhone and iPad accessory maker iHome just took the wraps off their first AirPlay ready product. The new iHome AirPlay wireless speaker system looks good from the single product shot available on the iHome website. Based on the limited spec details, the product appears to be portable and comes with a rechargeable battery.
AirPlay is the new wireless streaming feature built into the upcoming iOS 4.2 release coming out this November. Steve Jobs demonstrated how users can stream audio, photos and video to an AirPlay ready device from an iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch. iHome is the first company to reveal an AirPlay product but other companies such as Denon, Marantz, JBL and B&W will follow with AirPlay products later this year.
No details from iHome on how much the AirPlay wireless speaker system will run but it is slated to for a November release, just in time for the holiday season.
