Notre Dame Students Participate in eReader Study

email

With many colleges back in session for the fall semester, we’ve been interested in the different ways iPads are being implemented in the classrooms.  Notre Dame professor, Corey Angst, is debuting a class taught entirely with the iPad.  Class participants will use their university provided iPads to conduct research, manage real-world projects and maybe even develop their own applications.

Students from a variety of colleges and departments are working together in Professor Angst’s class to evaluate ” the creation, distribution, consumption and usefulness of electronic course materials in an academic setting by examining the usefulness of the iPad as an eReader.”

Don’t worry, it won’t be all work and no play for these college kids.  They’re encouraged to synch their temporary iPads with their own iTunes accounts and take full advantage of the apps available.

This is a great opportunity for these students. As a recent graduate, I understand how important it is to graduate with technology knowledge. The iPad is a new breed of computer and learning it now will put these students ahead of the curve. Great to see this happening here in Indiana as well!

Our handbags, travel bags and tech accessories (yes, including an iPad cover!) are manufactured right here in Indiana, so we are always glad to see other innovative ideas taking place in this great state. Way to go, Notre Dame – can’t wait to see how this turns out!
