A 55-inch iPad?

The second half of this year looks very promising for Apple. The iPad sales projections continue to be very strong. There are rumors about Apple’s TV plan, rumored to be rebranded “iTV”. A new iPod Touch version is due to come out with some potential hot features like a Retina Display and Dual Cameras. Finally, over the last week many rumors have come out about Apple’s new iPad plans for a 7-inch version coming very soon.

If all rumors pan out, Apple’s schedule and potential line-up looks very strong indeed. But, what about a 55-inch iPad for your living room or media room? Would you be willing to buy one and show off your media collection?

Well, maybe some of you would love to have a giant iPad in your house. But, the 55-inch version will be on display at certain Apple stores only. The new display can be seen at some Apple stores, and will be sitting atop giant sized newspapers, books, and other media items.

Well, who would really need such a big one. Wouldn’t it be much more comfortable to have a large flatscreen TV with a wireless connection to a standard iPad which could control everything.

Just imagine playing games on such a large display.

Considering the power of the Apple Remote-App this could really turn into something huge. iTV, I’m here and waiting…

I would totally hang that up on the wall, especially if they hit 1080p with their res. It’s got good, clean lines, just needs some HDMI’s and a Digital Audio out and I’d be happy as a clam!

Does anyone know how to get these or who makes them for a trade show display?

      Eric,

These were custom made for Apple. No idea who they contracted with but any good trade show design shop should be able to recreate a giant iPad like display with a large LCD TV or monitor inside. Good luck.
