Canadian Based Builder Uses iPads to Sell Condo Suites

email

Most builders use technology, but for the most part, few have jumped right in with both feet and embraced all that it has to offer.  Sure they have websites and email, but personal experience has shown me technology doesn’t extend much beyond that in the construction industry. According to The Globe and Mail, Jack Winberg the President of Rockport Group, is changing that with the use of iPads.

When a techie from the Rockport Group’s sales agency suggested purchasing iPads and using them for all their marketing material, as well as a video of the community and proposed features of the building, Windberg not only embraced the idea, but decided to take it a step further.

I decided we would give an iPad loaded with all the information on 21 Clairtrell to anyone who decided to buy a suite. That way they would have at hand the very latest new gadget to use to show friends and family just what they were getting.

Although it took trips to three different stores before the desired 30 iPads were collected, the promotion has been successful.  Within the first ten days of the iPad’s introduction, five people bought suites and the number of available properties, as well as iPads, is decreasing. According to Mr. Winberg:

What we found is that the idea of using iPads engages people.  Their eyes do not glaze over as sales people go through their spiel; they are not daunted by the profusion of brochures and floor plans.

Is this just another iPad gimmick?  Maybe, but with the current real estate market, anything that helps to move properties is a plus!
