PadPressed Converts Your Blog Into an iPad Application
Are you a blogger? If you’re a blogger, chances are you’re doing it on WordPress. WordPress is a very popular blog software and powers some of the most popular sites on the web today, including PadGadget.
If you’re not a blogger, but have been thinking about blogging, you may want to check out PadPressed. PadPressed is a WordPress plug-in built to deliver a browsing experience for your readers on an iPad.
For example, when a reader visits your blog from their iPad it’s automatically formatted to be iPad compatible with swipe-to-advance gestures, accelerometer aware column formatting, touch navigation, and more. PadPressed makes your blog function like a native iPad app.
PadPressed works with your existing theme and it’s only activated when a reader navigates to your blog from their iPad. In addition, it comes with a theme options panel that allows you to set the logo used for your homescreen icon, icons for touch navigation, featured slider settings, and your unique skin.
The plug-in will also notice the orientation of a reader’s iPad. If a reader is holding the iPad in Portrait mode it displays an article as a single column. If a user rotates PadPressed into Landscape mode, the article automatically turns into three separate columns.
To support touch-based navigation, PadPressed will allow your readers to switch categories by simply touching the large icon associated with that category. Instead of using dropdowns or small text links, PadPressed uses large touch based overlays to switch categories.
Finally, PadPressed comes with built-in social sharing to allow your readers to share articles via Facebook, Twitter, and Email.
The PadPressed plug-in is available now for $49.99. To check additional blogging tools recommended by PadGadget, check out our previous article on “Top 10 Apps for Bloggers”.
