iPad Getting iOS 4 in November?
At this year’s WWDC (Worldwide Developers Conference), Steve Jobs initially pointed to iOS 4 availability on the iPad sometime “this fall.”
Many have been waiting for the new OS to become available on their precious iPads early in the fall.
However, Apple has hinted that iOS 4 may become available in November for your iPad. A report outlining advertisers’ plans for Apple’s new iAd program indicates that the new interactive ads won’t reach iPad users until iOS 4 becomes available for it in November.
An AdAge report seems to show that Apple has been communicating advertisers that the iAd platform will become available to the iPad sometime in November. AdAge is a global source of news, intelligence and conversation for marketing and media communities.
iAds will become available on iOS apps for the iPhone and iPod Touch on July 1st. But, Apple Insider has reported that many advertisers have indicated via AdAge that “a check-in with declared iAd advertisers found that many are still in the early stages of flushing out concepts and creative.” They’ve also reported that some advertisers are weeks and even months away from having iAds in Apple’s system.
It seems that iOS 4 may be available on your iPad much later than anticipated. Some of the long awaited features such as multi-tasking and background services, apparently will be landing on the iPad in the fourth quarter.
