iPad Gets Bumped – iPhone 4 Most Successful Apple Launch

The iPad no longer holds the record for Apple’s fastest selling item. Apple sold 1.7 million iPhone 4s in the first three days of it being available for sale in the US, UK, France, Germany and Japan. This is a pace of more than 6 iPhone 4′s sold every second.
Although the iPhone 4 launch was successful, it was plagued by activation and availability issues. Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO, acknowledged the issue in the company’s recent press release. ”This is the most successful product launch in Apple’s history … Even so, we apologize to those customers who were turned away because we did not have enough supply.”
Apple is running on all cylinders these days. It kicked-off the year with the extremely successful launch of the iPad where it sold 1 million devices in less than 30 days. The iPad quickly became the most successful launch of an Apple product in the company’s history. Between the iPad and the iPhone 4, Apple has sold nearly 5 million iOS devices in the past 90 days.
