Pandora And iOS 4 – A Sweet Mix!

We heard plenty of news stories surrounding the launch of iOS 4 yesterday. One app that did not miss the festivities is Pandora Radio. Pandora has been a very popular app for both the iPhone and the iPad. We’ve seen Pandora’s app being featured in many of Apple’s keynote presentations.

Even though the app proved to be one of the App Store’s early success stories, it was still missing one key ingredient. That’s correct, multi-tasking!

Pandora’s new update (version 3.1) coincides with the iOS 4 release, and it brings the much anticipated multi-tasking capability allowing you to continue streaming music even when you decide to launch another application. A feature that will be quite useful on your iPad.

The application now allows you to browse the web and do anything you want while listening to its radio. If you press the home button on your iDevice, Pandora will keep playing music. With the new release, a widget with music control buttons is also available on the left side of your iDevice multi-tasking tray.

Editor’s Note: Keep in mind that for now iOS 4, new multi-tasking capabilities are limited to the iPhone 3GS, third-generation iPod Touch, and the upcoming iPhone 4 launching later this week. Your iPad will benefit from the new iOS 4 capabilities very soon (early fall we hope).
