24 Hours of Le Mans on the iPad
Automotive enthusiasts and techies unite! Audi of America and SkyGrid launched the 24 Hours of Le Mans experience for the iPad. ”Audi has been at the forefront of finding innovative ways to share its performance story and brand momentum,” said Scott Keogh, Chief Marketing Officer, Audi of America. “Our partnership with SkyGrid will now deliver that experience in the engaging framework of the iPad.” Audi will continue along its path of innovative technology when, together with SkyGrid, it presents the grueling 24 hour race at Le Mans, set to begin on June 12th at 9 AM EDT.
The introduction of racing on the iPad is old world technology meets new. Le Mans dates back to 1923 and is the oldest endurance race in the world. With final preparations for this world renowned race taking place in France this week, Audi has a lot to live up to, as its cars have won the last 8 out of 10 years.
The iPad’s large screen will provide race fans with access to the latest news from Le Mans, high-definition multimedia Audi content, up to the minute activity with live streaming of the race experience and from all 3 Audi cars.
When my dad traveled to Le Mans years ago, he loved his experience at the 24 hour race. There’s no doubt in my mind, he would have enjoyed having an iPad along to enhance his experience too. Maybe this will give him an excuse to take another trip.
