Color Splash for iPad – App Review

Although I’m not a professional photographer, I’m a mom who takes lots of pictures throughout the year. I often manipulate the photos I’ve taken and was immediately interested in the Color Splash for iPad app when I saw it listed as one of the top paid apps and in the New and Noteworthy section on iTunes.

Color Splash for iPad is an awesome app that allows you to create dramatic effects without much effort. I began the app by watching the in-app tutorial. Color Splash is not complicated to use, but I found the tutorial informative and a must for first time users. Watch it and within a matter of minutes, you’ll be creating stunning photos to share with family and friends.

First, upload photos to your iPad using iTunes and then launch Color Splash. After watching the tutorial, select Images to choose a photo and get started. Your photo is converted to black and white and appears on the screen with the Color tab selected at the top of the screen. Next, begin adding color back into the picture by “painting” with your finger. Color Splash incorporates a number of features which allow the user to easily manipulate their photo, some of which include: adjusting brush size and intensity, undoing accidental brush strokes and pinching to zoom in and out in a photo to ease coloring. Continue painting until you’ve created just the right amount of “Wow!” effect in your your photo.

Done with your project? Save your new image to Photos on your iPad or share with your loved ones via email or by uploading to Facebook. Not quite finished and need more time to work? Simply save your session and go back to it whenever you’re ready to resume editing.
