email

School is over and the summer vacations are just around the corner. I’m sure you are already planning those trip videos. Sometimes, you may want to have a quick way to edit videos, and share them quickly with your family and friends while on vacation. This may be a good time to take a quick look at the ReelDirector 3.0 app.

ReelDirector is no stranger to the App Store. The iPhone app version was released back in 2009, and was previously featured as the best on Apple’s Rewind 2009 list. After all that success, Nexvio is bringing us their app to the iPad.

ReelDirector 3.0 strives to make it easier for you to create, edit and share movie clips on your iPad. Nexvio has indicated that you will be able to put transitions between clips to smooth or blend the change from one scene to another. You will also use the drag-and-drop timeline, multiple text watermark styles, and up to 28 transitions that allow you to create videos in just minutes.

The new app version (v3.0) is free to owners of previous editions. If you already own the iPhone version, you can load it on your iPad at no extra cost.

Honestly, I didnt have great luck on the iPhone version, but the large real estate on the iPad should make this app interesting….I’ve got nothing to lose, I already own it. Just wish the iPad had a camera (grrr!)…certainly not ReelDirectors fault…Thanks for the overview!

Does this app do 16:9 aspect ration. Every video I’ve seen so far looks like it’s only 4:3. That would be a deal breaker for me at this point.

Would kindly also like an some info on the aspect ratios:) Thanks

Can you import your clips from your computer onto your iPad to edit? And if you can what file type?
