Guns N’ Roses Vook for iPad – First Look
Are you a Rock fan? Do you remember Guns N’ Roses (GNR)? If you are a hard rocker, you certainly will.
For those who do not know, Guns N’ Roses is an American rebel hard rock band formed back in 1985. According to many, the band revived the punk attitude-driven hard rock scene. Phew! I had to squeeze in this last sentence to satisfy many of our frequent hard-rock readers that pinged us about GNR’s new Vook!
You may be asking, what is a Vook? A vook is a new innovative way for reading. It blends a written book, high-quality video and the power of the Internet into a single, complete story. Basically, you can read your book, watch videos that enhance the story and connect with authors and your friends through social media all on one screen.
This week was the official release of a new GNR Vook called Reckless Road. The book was written by Marc Canter (the band’s historian) and published by Vook, a California-based digital publisher. It tells the story of the making of the classic album Appetite for Destruction and features text, concert footage and interviews with band members.
At the request of many of our readers, I took a quick look at GNR’s Vook. The video book offers 40 minutes of video interviews and plenty of images. The book takes you through the early years of Guns N’ Roses. There are lots of video interviews with the band and their associates. I can say that Reckless Road definitely represents the band when it was living on the edge of greatness and constant chaos. I must say there are some unprecedented photos and memorabilia from the early years of one of the great rock bands from the 1980s and 1990s.
Reckless Road will cost you $4.99 on the App Store. If you are a true hard rock fan, and Guns N’ Roses was one of your favorite bands, this app is worth the try.
