HTC Sues to Halt iPad Importation

Looks like HTC doesn’t want you to have an iPad any time in the near future. The folks at HTC just counter sued Apple for patent infringement on five HTC patents dealing with such high-tech wonders as power control and telephone dialing. This comes in reaction to Apple’s earlier suit against HTC for infringement on several of Apple’s multitouch patents.
If HTC has their way, it might become even harder for you to find an iPad in an Apple store. HTC has asked the United States International Trade Commission to halt the importation and sale of the iPhone, iPad and iPod in the United States. Only two of the patents might possibly apply to the iPad as they deal with power control and power management.
Apple has been getting a lot of legal attention lately with lawsuits from Nokia, Intellect Wireless, and now HTC. Seems everybody wants a piece of Apple’s high-margin iPhone and iPod business.
