Hulu Subscription Service for iPad?

email

The Los Angeles Times reports that Hulu intends to release its subscription service on May 24th. The newspaper cited people who have knowledge of the plans, although the company declined to comment. Hulu is not planning to abandon free content, as the company plans to offer the five most recent episodes of popular shows outside of the subscription plan.

According to the Los Angeles Times, under the proposal, Hulu would continue to provide for free the five most recent episodes of shows like Fox’s “Glee,” “ABC’s “Lost” or NBC’s “Saturday Night Live.” But viewers who want to see additional episodes would pay $9.95 a month to access a more comprehensive selection, called Hulu Plus.

Earlier reports have claimed, that Hulu has been planning to roll out the subscription service for the iPad as a means of testing the subscription model. So, it is very possible we see an iPad version of Hulu on or soon after May 24th.

Will you pay $10 for a Hulu subscription?

Probably wont go beyond what the free content is..still have a tv with a dvr after all. Watching tv on any device is a convenience – not a necessity. Kudos to Hulu however for getting on board.

Hulu would be nice, but not as another subscription I’d be paying for in addition to Netflix and AT&T U-Verse I’ve already got at home. I’ve read there’s a new U-Verse iPhone app coming that let’s you stream/download (not sure which, if just one or both) shows from you DVR to your iPhone. I’d hope they’re already planning for a iPad version.

If I didn’t already pay for the U-verse service, $10/month for television content is actually a pretty good deal. Sure, free is better, but “free” is losing it’s place in the world. Even YouTube, though “free” to watch, pushes ads on top of content. SO, not so “free” in the end.

I would love to see Hulu on iPad. Free would be prefered, but even if I had to pay a small premium I would probably jump in. I love the ABC app and the Netflix app. I can’t stand watching shows on the laptop anymore thanks to the iPad. Once Hulu comes out I will have zero need for my cable subscription.
