Apple Begins iPad Shipments

PadGadget has gotten word from readers that they’re receiving notice of their iPads shipping. This follows news that customers who pre-ordered their iPads started seeing the charges hit their credit cards late last week.
Before you get too excited thinking you’re getting your iPad early, keep in mind that Apple can request UPS to hold shipments until a specific date. We saw this happen last year with the iPhone 3G S shipments. Apple began shipping iPhones early and had UPS hold them for a future delivery date to ensure customers didn’t get their new gadget before the launch date.
Update: Engadget and MacRumors readers also began receiving shipping notices last night.
